Synchro Motorsport missed
the first practice session of the season as, like many other teams,
parts had not arrived in time and the cars were not ready. However,
as a result of the resurfacing work that had taken place during the
close season, the track was incredibly fast for the eight drivers that
attended, with times up to four seconds quicker than last year. The
quickest times were: -

The current lap record is 1m 26.007 set
two years ago by Andy Middlehurst in a Nissan Primera, although Simon
Harrison, in a GR Motorsport prepared Honda Integra, did record a fine
1m 25.495 in qualifying last season. These comparisons only go to show
the increase in grip that the new surface has given.
