It was the Honda shut down in the week before Round 6of the
National Saloon Cup at Brands Hatch in Kent. Dave Allan was
still away in Japan, so Bill Stilwell would be deputising in
Dave's absence again. The shutdown enabled the Synchro
Team to take full advantage of the testing that was scheduled
for the Friday. There were four sessions giving, in theory,
plenty of opportunity to put both of the Civics through their
paces.

Things, though, as is common in motor racing, did not work
out that way. The saloons had been put together with the
MGF's for all four sessions and the two sessions in the
morning were virtually written off as they were constantly
being stopped due to cars going off the track and the session
being 'red flagged'. In fact, the Synchro cars only managed to
put in about eight laps between them.
