Nurburgring was the meeting that the team was looking forward to all year.
Situated in Southern Germany amid the Bavarian forest, the fourteen-mile
circuit provides a stiff test for both the drivers and their cars. Unlike the Spa
24-hour race, there is always a diverse range of cars competing. From high
spec German Touring cars and Vipers to Minis and, at this event, even a
Volkswagon Caravanette!

The range of drivers is also high with the likes of former formula one
drivers, Nicola Larini and Stefano Modena amongst the entry list for this
year.

There were also over 300 cars entered. The number of cars that would
actually start the race would be whittled down to 210 by the time the race started at 4 p.m. on the Saturday afternoon. This was achieved by two qualifying sessions on the Friday, one of two hours at midday and the other of three and a half hours during the evening.
