Synchro Motorsport arrived at Croft, just outside Darlington, on the Friday to take part in the official test day. Through work commitments, Kevin Hicks was unable to attend. Kevin, though, would be here for the qualifying tomorrow.
In scorching sunshine, the track was lively and Dave Allan had a couple of tricky moments in the afternoon session. A front tyre
blow
out caused the first incident and the second by a spin on the back part
of the circuit, which saw him finish up in the cornfield! The day ended
with some question marks over the right set up for the car in tomorrow's
qualifying. Dave's best lap of 1m 34.183 was slightly slower than his
time in the April meeting but the track, in the heat, was also slightly
slower.
