Round two of the Powertour National Saloon Championship
took place at Croft. This meant a long drive north for the
Synchro team to the circuit situated just outside Darlington.

There was testing on the Friday but due to work commitments,
both Dave Allan and Kevin Hicks were unable to attend. This was unfortunate as Dave's Civic had problems over the weekend that would have been cleared up during the test session.

The weather was cloudy and cold on the Saturday. Qualifying was, as usual, due to start at midday. Dave's Civic had been fitted with a new set of pedals for this meeting and he would need a few laps to get accustomed to them. Also, for the first time, a camera had been fixed inside Dave's car. This will be used in the TV programs on Channel 4 and Sky Sports, due to be shown in about two weeks time.
