Kevin started well. Dave did not. By the end of the first lap, which was full of incident, Kevin was up to seventh place. Dave a second back in eighth place. All looked set for a good team result. However, at the end of the second lap, Kevin was still seventh but Dave was languishing back in eleventh place.

On the third lap a yellow/black flag was waved which meant that all cars had to slow and not overtake. It stayed this way for two laps causing the cars to bunch up in readiness for the green 'go' flag.

At the restart, Dave went back a further place and had to retire from the race on the next lap. The clutch had been slipping under load, caused once again by the pedal adjustment. The Synchro team had suffered a heavy penalty for being unable to test on the Friday. All the problems encountered with Dave Allan's Civic this weekend would have been ironed out. Kevin, though, went on to finish eighth, to reinforce the view that a good team result could have been achieved.

The next meeting is in three weeks at Oulton Park, over the Easter weekend. Testing is on the Saturday and this will mean that the Synchro team will be there to hopefully iron out the gremlins, which have hampered their progress so far this year.
