The truck, with the two Civics onboard, was the first to arrive at Spa on the Wednesday morning. This was fortunate as there was a problem finding a slot to set up the awning. Many of the other teams that had left later were still waiting outside the track well into the afternoon.

On the way over a slight detour had to be made to pick up Dave Allan from Brussels airport. He had been away on business in Sweden and had flown there from Malmo via Copenhagen.

Amid showers, which is quite normal for Spa, the awning was set up, the cars unloaded from the trailer and stored away for the night. The real business would start tomorrow when a one-hour test session was scheduled.

For this round the National Saloon cars were joined by thirteen of the leading cars from the Dutch Touring car series. Eighteen National Saloon cars had made the long trip to Spa to bring the starting line-up to an impressive thirty-one cars.

The weather was a lot kinder on Thursday with bright sunshine. The testing was due to start at 2.20 in the afternoon. Both cars, as far as the team could tell, were prepared and ready to go.
